Hi! I’m Dr. Michelle Pearce and I wear a number of professional hats. I’m a nationally board certified health and wellness coach (NBHWC), a clinical psychologist, and a Professor in the Graduate School at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I’m also a writing for wellness facilitator, an educator, a program director, a researcher, a clinical supervisor, a consultant, and an author.
I received my Ph.D. from Yale University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at Duke University Medical Center and a second fellowship in Spirituality and Health at the Duke Center for Spirituality, Theology, and Health. I completed my coaching training with the Institute for Life Coach Training with a distinction in health and wellness coaching. I am board certified with the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches.
I’ve written two books: Night Bloomers: 12 Principles for Thriving in Adversity is a compassionate guide for navigating loss and transforming through difficult life events. And, in an effort to help more people learn about spiritually integrated therapy, I published a book called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Christians with Depression: A Practical, Tool-Based Primer.
In my private coaching practice, I empower clients with new perspectives and practical, evidence-based tools so they can live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives. If you’re looking for a coach, I’d be delighted to speak with you and co-create a coaching experience that will help you reach your goals.

How Do You Change Lives?
Coaching Services: Partnering with You for Wellness
My clients consistently tell me that the most significant thing I do is help them see things from another perspective. We often don’t get a say in what life serves up, but we do have a choice in how we perceive what happens to us and how we will respond to it.
As your coach, I commit to helping you change the way you view yourself and the circumstances in your life. Because a shift in perspective can change everything, creating more ease and exciting new possibilities.
I will also provide you with practical, evidence-based tools and strategies to assist you in making the changes you desire in your life.
Although I will function as your coach and not your therapist, our work benefits from the clinical training and experience I’ve had as a licensed psychologist. I use my clinical expertise in the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to inform the work we do shifting perspectives and upgrading limiting thought patterns and unhelpful behaviors. I also integrate my training in mind-body practices (e.g., mindfulness, meditation, guided imagery), spiritual and existential issues, writing for wellness, and behavioral medicine.
It would be an honor to help you find your passion, tap into your courage, achieve your goals, and transform your life.
